Welcome Team PPR!
By on August 01, 2011
It has been quite a week here in Leonardo, NJ and we?ve only just begun to experience the whirlwind of excitement that is the Wendy Schmidt Oil Cleanup X CHALLENGE. Just when you get used to seeing a team every day, their time at OHMSETT is complete and it?s time to say good-bye and wish them well. As we say good-bye to Vor-Tek, we say hello to team PPR (or as they are more formally known, Pacific Petroleum Recovery). We are eager to welcome our Washington based team to OHMSETT and prepare them to experience a competition like no other.
Team members Rich Morgan, Kevin Kennedy and Bruce Thiffault, created PPR?s open water skimming system. A long standing concept of Co-founder Kevin Kennedy, the apparatus was built specifically to respond to the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The materials and technology used in PPR?s system are based on elements currently in use in other maritime applications, and the Wendy Schmidt Oil Cleanup X CHALLENGE provides them with a unique opportunity to demonstrate and prove their distinctive design. The team believes that their robust system, scalable and capable of high recovery and continuous operation, is ready to take on the competition!
We are excited to see the team and even more excited to see their technology in action.
