Dan Selz

External Engagement, Visioneering, Strategic Relations

I prize Community and Space Exploration.

Dan Selz comes to XPRIZE with a decade of experience in telling stories and building movements. As the Visioneering Head of Crowd and External Engagement, he will be taking his time-honed skills at rallying a crowd around an idea to make sure that the world-changing ideas coming out of Visioneering are supported by a broad and diverse array of people.

Prior to joining XPRIZE full time, Mr. Selz was a Visioneer himself on the 2017 Clean Air team. Prior to that, he had a diverse career in countries ranging from Denmark to India to Greece. Mr. Selz worked in entertainment, as a screenwriter working on projects from the mega-budget (20th Century Fox) to smaller Bollywood productions (Shiamak Davar Productions). He also worked in politics as a lead Field Organizer, recruiting and deploying volunteers for campaigns ranging from Presidential to those at the State Senator level

Mr. Selz graduated with his MBA from the University of Southern California – Marshall School of Business in 2018, where he was inducted to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society as well as winning the Chaltiel Scholarship and Lofgren Fellowship. Mr. Selz obtained his B.A. in philosophy from Carleton College in Minnesota, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He also graduated from the improv comedy training course at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater without any distinction whatsoever—though he did go on to co-found regionally touring improv comedy group Maybe Sherman.
