In the course of a long and varied business career, Mark has had operating leadership positions in energy, retailing, pharmaceuticals and real estate. In energy, for more than 20 years, Mark has been the Executive Chairman of Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc., a leading oil services firm, and from that vantage point has helped lead the domestic energy revolution that provided the U.S. with energy independence.

Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Colgate University where he earned his A.B. degree in Philosophy. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and graduated Order of the Coif.
